Who we are

This site is operated by the office of Siobhian Brown MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Ayr, Prestwick & Troon. Address: 9 Beresford Terrace, Ayr, KA7 2ER.

What we collect

When you sign up for updates, we collect:

• Your first name
• Your email address
• Your privacy policy agreement and marketing opt-in
• The date and time you signed up

When you contact the office through the casework form, we also collect your full name, postcode, optional phone number, and the details of your enquiry.

How we use your information

• To send you newsletters and updates from Siobhian Brown MSP (only if you opt in to marketing).
• To respond to casework enquiries and provide constituency support.
• To keep records required of an elected representative.

Email marketing & Mailchimp

Newsletters and email updates are sent using Mailchimp (operated by Intuit Inc.). If you opt in, your first name and email address will be transferred to Mailchimp for the sole purpose of sending you these communications. Mailchimp processes data in line with its own privacy notice. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

Lawful basis

We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) to send you marketing emails. For casework, we rely on the public task basis (Article 6(1)(e)) of an elected representative carrying out their duties.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Casework records are kept for the duration of the parliamentary term and then securely deleted, unless we are required to keep them for longer.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct or delete your data
• Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk
